Background:
When I first started working for Congressman Darrell Issa in the beginning of May 2004. the idea of recalling Governor Gray Davis was still a pipe dream for many Republicans, especially in L.A. County.

My job was first to sell the recall throughout Los Angeles County to groups and individuals, and then to promote Darrell Issa as a candidate for Governor. The campaign was like a one or two year campaign fit into the space of several months. Through mine and a small group of people in California, we were able to help shift public opinion towards supporting the recall of Gray Davis.

When Congressman Issa made statewide campaign drives, I was solely responsible for three successful and exciting media events. One was a rally at the Orange County Fairgrounds that was covered by Nightline, the second a press conference against the car tax at a tax cab company, and the last at Coast Converters, a bag making company that had to move to Nevada because of the economy.

After Darrell Issa dropped out of the race, I was asked by my boss, Issa's Campaign Manager, to be a part of Peter Ueberroth's field and advance staff. Here, I continued to do my work in L.A. County, but shifted over more to statewide advance work.
